The Golden Ocean Petite Hexagon Étui measures about 3 1/4" tall and is about 3" wide.  The hidden construction elements are cardboard, wool felt and wool roving. The exterior is covered in Golden silk jacquards, accented with Ocean Blue. The interior is comprised of Provincial Sky silk velvet needle panels.  The Ocean Blue silk velvet pincushion is topped with a Sunny Day mountain folded geranium and a crystal Blue Bird of Happiness, something everyone needs.  The flat loop ribbonwork Bachelor Button accents on the étui exterior are comprised of French Blue, Ocean Blue and French Indigo 2mm silk ribbons with Golden French knots at each center. Tiny ocean blue beads accent the lid strip's scalloped edge, the lid edge and scattered in the bachelor button centers.  Narrow picot-edged ombre ribbon is fluted along both edges of each outer needle panel in a gentle shade of blue.  Narrow, picot-edged ombre ribbon in a gentle yellow shade accents the lid, while 3.5mm Golden silk ribbon flutes the gently padded the lid.  At the lid center is an Ocean Blue velvet covered magnet, useful for keeping needles in place.

MJ's handcrafted, hexagon-shaped Golden Ocean Petite Hexagon Étui has been designed as a beautiful place to hold favored hand-sewing needles and pins, but would just as easily display a collection of small treasures.

This one-of-a-kind piece will arrive with a petite booklet included, signed and dated by MJ, that describes the étui's intricacies and unique qualities as written here. The construction and finishing used to create this étui is of couture quality.

Etui: From the 17th century French verb estuier, to hold, and its nominal derivative estui, a holder/container, an étui is a small, decorative case that was used to hold and carry sewing items, sealing wax or toilet articles.  The etui was designed to be a portable fashion accessory, a kind of predecessor to the handbag.
