The Boot Pincushion measures about 5 1/2" tall with a foot length of 3 1/2". The boot leg is comprised of Green Algae silk matelassé, while the spat and pincushion are in Green Mist silk velvet. The silk ribbon and lace foliage embellishments are created using a variety of ribbonwork techniques in shades of Green Mist, Lime, Willow, Evergreen and Chartreuse. The boot ruffle is of Raspberry silk organza with a rustic edge, while tiny French Knot Roses embroider the velvet ribbon at the leg top. The Pincushion Boot is filled with a combination of play sand and wool roving, making the entire piece a healthy place for sewing needles and pins, also giving the boot a weightiness that makes it feel hearty. Beads, sequins and very narrow trims add to the finishing touches.
