MJ's Encrusted Heart is made from nearly 100 tiny, MJ-made silk ribbon roses, using both ribbonwork and ribbon embroidery methods. The techniques used are the gathered rose, the folded rose with or without tutu and the French knot rose, each in shades of hand-dyed pinks, yellows, oranges and reds. The ribbon roses have been hand sewn or embroidered onto a silk fabric-covered base piece and mounted onto a silk velvet and matelassé easel in a shade reminiscent of Dior pink.
This is a one-of-a-kind piece, signed and dated by Mary Jo. The construction and finishing used to create this Encrusted Heart on a velvet easel is of couture quality.
The Encrusted Heart on Velvet Easel measures about 5 1/2" tall and is about 4" wide.
